Hike, thrift & gather

A flexible, optional day for anyone already in Banff. Join as much or as little as you like.

  1. Meet in The Kenrick lobby

Meet in the lobby to organize carpools. We’ll leave for the Johnston Canyon trailhead, about 20 minutes from Banff.

  2. Johnston Canyon & Ink Pots

Choose the canyon walk to the Upper Falls (about 5 km / 3.1 mi round trip) or continue to the Ink Pots (about 11 km / 6.8 mi round trip). Bring water, snacks, and layers.

  3. A little Banff thrifting

Join Lee for a few shops, or catch a ride back to The Kenrick after the hike.

  4. Happy hour & an easy dinner

Meet in Lee and Tom's suite at The Kenrick. We will bring in dinner and decide together whether to head into town afterward or keep the evening relaxed.

If you plan to join us Thursday—or need a seat in the minivan—please contact Lee or Tom directly so we can plan transportation.

Friday’s cocktail hour and the wedding ceremony may be outdoors. Please bring warm layers.

Gifts

No gifts, please.

Traveling to Banff is already a generous commitment. Your presence is the only gift we could want.

Weather

Layers, always.

Check the Banff forecast during the week before your trip. If Saturday’s weather turns, we have an indoor ceremony plan.

Travel documents

Check your passport early.

If you are crossing the Canadian border, confirm your passport requirements and expiration date well before the trip.

Holiday weekend

Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving.

October 12th is a national holiday, so roads, stores, and attractions may be busier around the long weekend.
